About Us

Since 1995, Radio Khwezi, which means the morning star in isiZulu, has been the daily companion of individuals and families, most of whom are from rural communities in the Natal midlands and north coast areas. Over 150 000 listeners tune in daily to the wide range of programmes delivered in true local flavour and range from current and international affairs, educational programmes, talk shows, music and dramas.

Radio Khwezi works together with the communities it serves, to develop, produce and broadcast quality programmes that aim to educate and uplift the listeners. It draws on the rich talent in their community for various programmes including the rich voices of local choirs and gospel artists.
95% of the programmes are in isiZulu, from 4AM to 12PM, with 1 German hour a day, from 2 PM – 3 PM. The station broadcasts on frequencies 90.5 FM and 107.7 FM and also boasts a large online audience with listeners across the world.
