World Vision & Maphumulo
Municipality take AIDS-awareness to Stanger Taxi Ranks 8 & 9 June 2007
Thousands of Maphumulo taxi commuters were encouraged to go for HIV/AIDS testing on 8 and
9 June, thanks to an initiative by World Vision and the Maphumulo Municipality who
embarked on a campaign launched in Stanger by Mr Stanley Maphosa (World Vision manager)
and Mr Dumisani Zubane(Taxi owner).
Radio Khwezi reported on the event where World Vision handed out stickers with a message
which encouraged people to know their status by going for an HIV test. Taxi drivers put
the stickers up in their taxis and expressed joy at the initiative by World Vision and the
Maphumulo Municipality.
