Khwezi gets the scoop as IFP walks
out of parliament
30 May 2007
As the Province of KZN takes the parliament to the people, some political parties were not
happy about the move.On 30 May the Msinga Community witnessed parliament sitting in their
area where all parties met. However the IFP was not happy about the manner in which the
parliament was taken to the people and decided to walk out. Radio Khwezi was the first
station to report on the IFP 's walk out from the Parliament when the legislature was
sitting at Msinga. Members of the community phoned Khwezi to let us know about the issue.
The Khwezi news team rushed to the area to report on the story. As a community station,
Radio Khwezi sought, and then got the dissenting parties to speak on air about the matter,
with listeners phoning in to voice their opinion. A few days later, peace was restored to
the Msinga area.
