Re-opening of Kwazulu-Natal schools
17 January 2006
On Wednesday 17 January KwaZulu-Natal schoolchildren went back to classes to begin school
for 2007. Khwezi's news team went to find out if things were going as planned according to
what the education department had said in the press conference the day before.
More than 35 schools were visited and our news team found that most of them were well
prepared for the new year. A few schools experienced problems such as late registrations
and failure to deliver school books. Some principals regarded the change in curriculum as
rather challenging while others felt they were ready for action.
