Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and hail stones (some the size of a tennis ball) has caused substantial damage in various parts of Mvoti and Maphumulo Municipalities in KwaZulu-Natal.

The Storm destroyed buildings, homes, schools and church buildings of Mathafeni area on the border of Mvoti and Maphumulo Municipalities.

Electricity and Telephone lines were also affected. About 150 homes were affected and one person was reported injured after the storm.
