Germans celebrating Heritage Day in Durban

On Tuesday, 24 September, South Africa celebrated Heritage Day. The German community of Kwazulu Natal and others interested in German culture met in Pinetown to celebrate the German heritage of South Africa.

The South Africa-German Cultural Association together with the Deutsche Schule Durban and the Marianhill Convent put together a colourful programme which attracted about a thousand visitors. Also present were the German ambassador, Mrs Peters, the Honorary Consul of Austria, Gerald Seiter and the Swiss Consul Graber.
