Radio Khwezi -To be or not to
be, that is the question Radio Khwezi´s application for a four-year broadcasting
licence on frequencies 90.5 and 107.7FM was heard in the form of public hearings in
Richards Bay on Monday 22 October 2001. On the 90.5FM frequency Radio Khwezi has no
contestants, but there are two other contestants for the 107.7FM frequency.
The broadcasting authority, ICASA, was represented by the
Chairperson, Councillor Mandla Langa, Councillor Currie and two officials from the
Licencing Department.
The Radio Khwezi team consisted of members of the Governing Body,
Management and Staff, but our audience took an active part as well. Radio Khwezi was given
a chance to present their work and answers were provided by our team and the audience.
ICASA is still to reach a decision on whether Radio Khwezi receives
its four-year licence for both frequencies or not.
We would like to thank all staff and friends of Radio
Khwezi for their hard work and support.
