Workshop
for disabled people
A workshop for disabled people was held at Radio
Khwezi from the 4th to the 7th of September 2001. The training was facilitated by Vuleka
Productions based at the University of Natal in Durban. Nomusa Dladla, producer trainer,
ran the workshop which concentrated on the following four content areas:
| 1)
Cultural empowerment |
 |
| 2)
Economic access |
| 3)
Universal access |
| 4)
Education and training |
|
The Provincial Steering Committees
(PSCs) together with disability participants and radio stations are developing these
specific content topics guided by the Integrated National Disability Structure (INDS).
The workshop taking place at Khwezi is to train the disabled people to produce
programmes based on these issues. Each radio station that is on air and has production
facilities will be requested to produce 20 programmes all to be recorded on CDs.
