Masibumbane - Letīs unite
Masibumbane Listenersī Club started on 7 June 1998. It is a
programme which is run in the form of a club where the listeners are invited to
participate. Each member gives himself a nickname and is invited to take part in the
phone-in programmes held every Sunday night from 20:30 to 21:30.
The aims of the club are to promote peace, unity and good relations
between people of different cultures, languages and races. Members collect and donate
money to families of members who have passed away or to members who are experiencing
problems of some sort in order to show sympathy and support.
The club members also help in combating crime by phoning and giving
information on suspects.
Masibumbane has started a campaign to develop talents in the
community and especially among the young people by staging choir competitions. These have
been supported with great enthusiasm by competitors and audiences at different places in
our broadcast area.
Members have meetings twice a year. At the end of the year a
Christmas celebration is held where members give each other gifts. This year the Christmas
celebration is to be on the 17 November. |
